Lukas was following Evan's progress closely with his rifle, just waiting to see if he needed any assistance but saving his ammo for the moment. He seemed to be doing fine on his own anyways. He was probably the fastest person that Lukas had ever seen and he definitely knew how to handle himself as zombies went down all around him.
The leaper caught his vision just a second too late and it was already jumping on Evan. It managed to knock him over and Lukas was quick to take aim, letting out a breath to steady his shot before pulling the trigger and blowing the bastard's head off. It fell limp on him and he watched carefully to make sure Evan was getting up so that he didn't have to go down there and get him.
He felt a tug on his boot and looked down to spot a climber about to take a bite out of his ankle. His leg was hanging over the side since he'd straddled the wall and he quickly pulled out his pistol in his other hand and shot her in the temple (away from his foot). She was falling back to the ground just as Evan made it to the barricade and he holstered his rifle before reaching a hand down to help Evan up.
Now that they were both safely on the other side, Lukas let out a bit of a sigh of relief. He glanced over at his companion with a small smile, "Boy, if that's the kind of welcome home you guys get with each supply run it's a wonder that anyone makes it back here at all." He was reaching for the door when it opened to reveal two heavily armed guards. They looked at Evan and then at Lukas, giving him a once over and taking in all his weaponry.
"New friend Evan?" the one guy asked, looking at Lukas suspiciously.
"I wouldn't say we've gotten to that point, no..." Lukas answered for himself, putting his pistol back in its holster on his thigh and showing his empty hands as a sign of peace. "Just another survivor looking for some food and a place to sleep for the night. And my brother."
"That's an awful long list..." the other complained, looking equally suspicious. You think they'd be happy to see someone who was as heavily armed as they were when it came to them and the infected.
"My brother's the only important thing on it. Does a Gabriel Drake sound familiar at all?" he asked, looking between the two guards. One shook his head while the other pulled a list out of his coat and looked it over.
"Been no one coming through here with that name..." he replied after a moment.
The other guard laughed harshly, "Probably dead or turned in to one of them by now-"
"Watch your fucking mouth," Lukas growled, "That's my brother you're talking about." He was starting to think that maybe he would have had a better time of it if he'd just gone and found an abandoned building somewhere to sleep in.
