O'Brien nodded, "You take care of that. You'd better make damn sure you are before you go and sweet talk your ridiculous Southern self back into her heart, you understand me? Make certain, Pal. Or you'll have me and everyone else around here to answer to. At least apologize. Tell her you're sorry."
He pointed to Rodeo a bit threateningly, "and don't fuck up." He meant it. And that was all he was going to say on the matter, for now. He had other things he needed to be doing. And he was supposed to meet Leah under the stage so she could tell him all about definding his honor before she defiled it. If she wasn't too upset with him for meeting to talk with Rodeo after all.
He heard Rodeo's thanks as he walked away, and he didn't bother to turn. He just gave an acknowledging wave over his shoulder to the other man, and kept right on going. He still kind of wanted to punch the guy. It would have been satisfying as hell. But that was beside the point.
He'd said and done what he needed to say and do, and he hoped that Rodeo would take it into consideration and not fuck up again. Otherwise O'Brien felt like whatever happened would have been completely his fault for giving the jackass another chance.
