Ah, Valentine's Day. Día de San Valentín. Leti couldn't really remember the last time she'd celebrated the holiday. Had she really since the world had changed? It was hard to recall. Back before everything, her valentine had always been her daughter. And before that, it had been Damian. But neither were there with her anymore. The love she had for them never lessened, though. That still maintained through each and every day.
Surely there were some people enjoying the holiday. Those who were lucky enough to have found someone that they cared about and could share their heart with in such a world. Was she jealous? Of course. She couldn't imagine how a person couldn't be. But she wasn't bitter. If it was in the cards to have it happen to her, then it would happen. If it wasn't in the cards, then she'd keep on as she always did. Living and being grateful for everything. There was nothing wrong with that, right? Right.
For her, the day had been relatively uneventful. She'd paid a visit to Grand Central again to see Maya. No matter the holiday, that little girl liked to hear the songs that Leti had for them. Valentine's Day was no different. Of course, most of the songs that Leti could think of for the occasion were a bit more grown up for kids. She knew that Maya had a decent understanding of Spanish, so she chose a children's song instead. One of Araceli's favorites. Maya had enjoyed it, just like she enjoyed all of the songs. It was nice to make someone smile with her singing again. It wasn't something that happened every day.
Once back at Madison Square, Leti wasn't quite sure what to do with herself. She did intend to go visit Liam and see if he hadn't managed to hurt himself again. But other than that...there wasn't much of anything to do. Sitting down in a spot, she just took time to sit and think. As per usual, the lyrics of a song came to mind. It was one that Damian had sung to her once (or, at least, attempted to sing). She still remembered it like it was yesterday.
"Dame una caricia, dame el corazon.
Dame un beso intenso, en la habitacion.
Dame una mirada, dame una obsesion.
Dame la certeza de este nuevo amor.
Dame poco a poco tu serenidad,
dame con un grito la felicidad..."
The words came easily to her lips, and though she wasn't singing too loudly, it was nice to go back and remember the simple little things from the time before.
"Dame un tiempo nuevo, dame oscuridad,
dame tu poesa a medio terminar.
Dame un da a da, dame tu calor.
Dame un beso ahora en el callejn.
Dame una sonrisa, dame seriedad.
Dame si es posible, la posibilidad..."
