Rae could have pretended to be angry about him calling her "the Stripper." She could have. But they were so far beyond that being relevant anymore, and she knew that Eli meant it as more of a "pet nickname" now than anything else. Besides that, as it stood, she had a response perfectly tailored for just such a situation. "It's okay. You're my favorite Padwan, Ellie," she mused with a wry grin, which only grew when he told her that he looked forward to future changes. "I'll make sure to make all my cosmetic changes this interesting, then. I was thinking of a lip piercing next," she joked. "Do my teenage rebellion a little late."
Self-proclaimed cheater or not, the grin on his face made her feel pretty good. If there was anything that could come close to his smile it was his grin. It showed glimpses of the Elliot that she'd gotten sort of attached to over the past year or so, and it was a relief. She hadn't ever thought that this part of him was lost forever, but as he'd said, they hadn't had a lot to smile about lately.
She felt her own smile turning to a grin in response and she shrugged a shoulder. "We can do it properly then, if you want. Hand them back and we'll go through the whole trick-or-treat rigmarole, just for you," she suggested playfully, holding her hand out for the candy, though it was more or less just a gesture.
And yet again, he started laughing when he saw exactly what she'd done. Rae's heart swelled with pride (as well as another couple of emotions that she thought long lost since the whole world went to hell, but that was another problem entirely and something that didn't need to be dealt with that day) and she put her hand on her hip, jutting it out and giving Eli a Look. "Well now, a little greedy are we?" she asked him, playfully chiding.
"Fortunately for you, I'm the most thoughtful woman in the apocalypse," she joked, taking out the army-rolled jean vest, the sleeves of which she'd cut and frayed herself. That last little bit could go without mention, though. "Here, Mr. Greedyface. You'd be surprised how many jean vests were still at Macy's. Must mean no one wanted them," she grinned.
