Pursing his lips, Elliot bobbed his head in agreement of Rae's assessment. "That's exactly what he is." He snorted at the promise she wanted him to make her. "Cross my heart. I will make my drunken puppet perform for you."
It was no secret between them that Elliot had been to a few strip clubs when he was younger. He'd observed for himself how guys went crazy over the girls who had bodies that were only perfect because of the hours of surgery that went into building them. Elliot had always found himself attracted to the ones with purely natural bodies, cute deformities and all.
That Rae let him be privy to her moments of doubt and the sadness that stemmed from her old life, made Elliot feel special. Just as he only really allowed her to see how much it pained him to be separated from his family, Rae, too, let him see what she denied showing to so many others.
When the last bit of candy crackled in his mouth, Elliot swallowed the fruit-flavored lump, accompanied by a comment about Rae being perfect the way she was. It was too cheesy, for one thing. For another, it would've made his feelings about her too real.
"Good things come to those who wait." His smile became more genuine as he leaned back in his seat. Opening his mouth, he tipped the remaining Pop Rocks onto his tongue, chuckling when he realized the candy was doing a damn good job of expressing his feelings right about now.
Elliot chuckled at what Rae said about pranks leading to a bit of pain. He knew that all too well. "I know what you mean. Believe me."
