Rae couldn't see him. Elliot couldn't do much more than sit by her side and watch her cry. He tried to touch her so many times since he'd joined this spectral realm, but his efforts were for naught. He couldn't touch her. Couldn't comfort her.
David was his only hope.
He headed down the hall, out of his and Rae's secret room, in search of his brother. It wasn't a difficult search. In fact, Elliot found him right away, standing in the hall. Putting on a smile, Elliot waved. "Hey, bro." If he couldn't get David to believe that he was really here...
His body was already becoming transparent, and before he'd even reached David... he felt himself disappear. No. NO! Elliot fought back, chased away his own disappointment. He had to make David believe.
Frowning, Elliot looked down at himself. Flexed his fingers. He was back. Fighting back the emotions had worked. He was in a different spot than where he'd been before he disappeared, though. Behind David this time. As if he'd kept moving even after he'd become ethereal.
"You have to believe, David!" Elliot shouted near his brother's ear. "I'm here. I know you can see me!"
