It was definitely a good sign. O'Brien hated quarantine as much as Leah or anyone else, and he was also very relieved that neither his sister or his nephew had been bitten.
He smiled, "Me too." And Leah was also crazy for thinking that he'd just ditch her altogether for his family. There might be a few days where he got all caught up with them and stuff, and busied himself with finding them some supplies and things that they needed, but that didn't mean he was just going to forget about Leah. Or the Stones. They were like family, now, and he wished she knew that. That, and he was ridiculously sweet on Leah, herself. He'd let her nearly break his nose, be mean to him on numerous occasions, and there was the whole rood thing-- and if she thought he was just going to forget about it all and that it was for nothing, yeah, she was silly, as Lilah would put it.
"There's so much to say to them, you know..? So much I want to know, a-and I don't even know where to start. But," his brows pushed together a bit at her evasive little comment, "yeah... you were one of the first things I mentioned." That was a bad thing? Or Leah thought so?
"I.. You mean alot-- you were right outside, I just thought--" He smiled softly when she nodded and patted his side, "Of course I do." he leaned in to bring his arms further around her shoulders in a quick hug, "thank you, Leah." After a beat or two, he pulled back again, slipping away from her to turn and start back toward the room Luke and Alana were being kept in, taking careful steps and caution for his stupid knee's sake.
Making his way into the room with Luke and Alana again, he moved out of the way to let Leah into the room as well. He glanced from her and back to Luke and then to Alana. "Uh," He smiled somewhat sheepishly, motioning toward Leah, "Hey guys. Um. Luke. Alana," he nodded to his sister, "this is Leah." Looking to Leah, he hesitated a moment, hoping he wasn't making her feel too terribly awkward, and he moved closer to her again to bring his arm up around her a bit, setting his hand juuust borderline of being at the small of her back in hopes to comfort her-- that, or stop her from running away or anything. She kind of had that look.
"This is my sister, Alana Miller," he explained to Leah, and smiled back over at his little sister. "And this is our nephew, Luke Avery," he let his eyes move back over to his nephew, his smile softening, "um.. the last time I saw this guy, pretty sure he only came up to here, on me," He moved away from Leah again to step over to stand next to Luke, holding up his hand somewhere around his middle to indicate how tall he remembered Luke being.
Grinning, he looked over toward Alana and then to Leah, "Now, look. He's all fucking grown up."
