Evan had her there. It wasn't easy being nice to him, although their truce and her not-quite-relationship with O'Brien had leveled out her attitude considerably. She couldn't blame him for not believing it was genuine, so she shrugged it off. At the very least, Evan seemed to be in a good mood. Or maybe that was a ruse, too. "Unless, of course, I make a comment about all Frenchmen being clumsy as fuck. But maybe that's just you. Maybe you're the only clumsy Frenchman." At his comment about them being the worst people to pit against one another in a decency contest, Leah rolled her eyes and nodded, conceding her agreement.
"Much like you. Only, you're always clumsy," she cheerfully countered. Zombies were definitely more clumsy when there was a lack of good light. They could also sneak up on you, too, which was why she preferred at least some natural light, as opposed to relying on flashlights all the time. Batteries were only good for so long. Crank-powered lights were only good if you actually had them and even then they weren't that reliable. "I think I'll stick with my morning regime, thanks. Less of a chance we'll run across each other while hunting for supplies."
Leah tilted her head to one side, considering both Evan's words and the noise-cancelling headphones resting at the bottom of her pack. It had been ages since she'd last used them. They worked a little too well, and she didn't like having one of her senses deadened like that. Shrugging off her pack, she opened it and fished around until she felt the curved headpiece. Pulling the headphones out, she tossed them on the bed, avoiding Evan's gaze when she said, "Take them. They've been taking up too much space in my bag for a while now. Call it payback for what you did for my sister."
Who knew, the NY Public Library had blueprints hidden away in their files. "I take back what I always say about hating the library. Anything on the zoo or Ellis?" Not that she had much use for the latter. Brandon would probably find it useful, though.
When he reached to turn the page, Leah moved her hand out of the way, letting it fall back to rest on the edge of the bed as her focus turned to the alternate route Evan had plotted. She stifled a sudden yawn, once again nodding her approval. "Could be a lot of grates and locked doors down there, but if that's the case, they might just be rusted enough to get through. Maybe I can ask my cousin about some explosives." A pause. "Then again, maybe not. If our intent is to be stealthy. Explosives would be too loud." She really didn't want to venture into another sewer, despite her initial eagerness during the first expedition.
"We should scope the place out first, see if there's anyone living inhabiting the place. Maybe that'll help us decide which route to take." Glancing up, she raised her brows and made a face. "I'd really prefer taking to the roof."
