Rolling his eyes in the face of Leah's amusement, Evan snorted a laugh. He'd have been angrier, but frankly, he couldn't say that he wouldn't have done the exact same thing in her position, so he let it slide, not that he really figured he had much choice other than to let it slide. It was Leah; probably his greatest ally at the moment. What was he going to do? He flipped his sketchpad back open, glancing at the slightly torn page with a relieved sigh. Just a little tear. Nothing important had been lost.
“Ha. Yes, that's far, far more appropriate. We can add that to my ever-growing list of nicknames for you, Bitchy McMenstrualpants,” he said, pulling out his own personal favorite and smirking because he was more than vaguely aware that it was not one of Leah's favorites. Hence its appeal. “I'm pretty sure you thought that was going to offend me but frankly, I know how decent I am and you're pretty well right. And I'm still more decent than you are, there, Stoneheart. So,” he shrugged, tilting his notebook in toward himself, keeping her in suspense as to the purpose of this “visit” for a little while longer.
He laughed once more, nodding his head at her assessment of the transport situation. “Smart,” he one-worded his response. “I haven't been to sleep yet. Usually don't go to sleep until a couple hours from now anyway, but it's harder to sleep in this area than it is in any of the sleeping areas,” he muttered. “Curtains don't do much to muffle coughing or groaning or whatever the hell else is going on around here.” He went silent for a moment to give her an audio clip.
He nodded to the chair beside the bed when she asked him why he was here. “I don't want to say it too loudly. Just in case.”
When she sat down, he reached into his sketchpad and pulled out the original blueprint of Sing Sing, then handed it over to her. “I managed to find this. I've drawn about a thousand copies of it,” he exaggerated, “plotting out infiltration routes. And I wanted your input on them.” He handed the sketchpad next, opened to a couple of the roof infiltration routes he'd chosen.
