Leah didn't bother to hide the amusement she felt when she startled Evan. Best way to start the day, making someone jump and setting their heart to pounding. Granted, it was a risky way to make her presence known, if the person she was startling had a weapon at the ready. That's why she had to choose carefully the opportunities she took. She hadn't figured Evan would be resting one one of the beds in the infirmary with a knife in his hand. Or perhaps he would have, and it would've been her underestimation of his paranoia.
Whatever the case, the woman stepped into the area that was designated to Evan and pulled the curtain closed behind her. It would do very little to muffle their voices, but at this early hour, she didn't suspect too many people would be awake to eavesdrop. And if they were? Well, it wasn't like she planned on being overly blunt with her words about whatever plan Evan had up his sleeve. She also knew he wouldn't be so foolish as to blurt out everything here.
"The black light of your life, maybe," Leah snorted, brows raising to indicate how unimpressed she was by his remark. "And I'd say you've never been decent, so now I'm wishing I'd rephrased that question."
Evan's observation of the time had Leah shrugging. "Early bird gets a spot on the truck headed here from The Garden," she explained. "It isn't that much earlier than I usually wake up." Perks of being a morning person. Leaving her warm, human-shaped blanket was the only downside to being out and about earlier than normal. Well, that and her foot, but that wasn't nearly as bothersome as it had initially been.
"So what's so important that I had to drag my ass down here to visit you?" She prompted him, taking a step closer to the bed and folding her arms over her chest.
