Billie released a chuckle, leaning against the wall with her slim arms folded. "I dunno if you could take me, dear," she teased harmlessly. One never knew. There was this little skinny chick she had run into who went mad and began to beat the crap out of Billie. Looks were deceiving, that was for sure. The non immune was in good shape, but she probably could almost have been the girls mother. She seemed young, lighthearted and a pleasant meet. That was something Billie only thought of from time to time. Praising people was rare for her, since they didn't do anything to praise about. But the stranger seemed like a nice girl, she was getting that vibe quite easily.
"I have to agree with you. If I just was an uptight bitch all the time, I would go bonkers." She knew she could be a bitch. She heard it from several people. But that didn't mean she had her bitch switch on all the time. It depended on the situation and the people. This seemed a time for her to be lax, to just enjoy the pleasure of meeting someone she didn't know. The people she knew, besides her husband, kind of drove her nuts. Always asking for this, always asking for that. Next person to ask for another errand might get their asses kicked.
Carnegie..she remembered hearing it over the radio. "Did you stay there? I'm awfully sorry you had to go through all of that. I heard it was a blood bath. Some people are still looking for survivors." The pessimist in Billie wanted to say that it was of no use. But one never knew. "I can imagine it bringing people down. It's felt gloomy lately."
Billie started to exit from the storage room and motioned for Rae to follow her. "I think there is another storage room towards the back of the store. That's where they probably keep outdated items and perhaps damaged clothes. I know one of these storage rooms must have a surplus supply of Halloween items."
