In the morning, Scotty would be long gone. Rodeo didn't have to know that though so Scotty gave a tiny nod and snuggled around the pillow. Maybe he would take this with him too, he thought to himself. Any bit of comfort would help. But then again, the blanket would be better. It would keep him much warmer than a pillow. And yet the pillow...
He must have dozed off, because when he woke, the moon was high in the sky. His eyes adjusted to the dark and he glanced over at Rodeo, to see if he was actually asleep. No sudden movements came from the man, so slowly Scotty sat up and then stood. His arms released the pillow but he kept the blanket wrapped around himself.
Silently he stood and watched Rodeo before turning and padding quietly for the door.
