WHO: Charlie and Rodeo WHAT: Charlie and Rodeo meet up after their sparring on the intranet WHEN: January 1, 2019 WHERE: Firehouse 33 RATING: PG-13 for now, for tons of anticipated swearing STATUS: Complete.
Rodeo was glad he had the forethought to bring a bottle of hard liquor and an extra pack of smokes with him. That way if Charlie didn't show up, at least he'd be buzzed and relaxed. He'd prefer if she did show, of course. She seemed like a fun girl, if one could get past the rough exterior. Some of her biting remarks got him laughing, and he had no intentions of doing her wrong. He figured if he simply took the abuse for now, perhaps she'd grow a little less scathing eventually. Either way, she seemed like a lady he could get along with-- tough, smart, and a hard drinker with a trucker's mouth.
Rodeo found himself a seat in the firehouse, slumping back on an armchair in the small sitting area upstairs. He sipped at a bottle of Old Crow, his tongue numb to the burn of the cheap bourbon. His foot tapped out a beat to a song playing through his head, a song he couldn't help thinking of when it came to Charlie. I've seen it before, it happens all the time... He hummed along with the tune, oblivious as he waited. You're closing the door, you leave the world behind...
