Re: Tim + Open
After having delivered the toys and other stuff he and Mike had found for the kids, Remy had decided to stick around for the holidays. It had been worth it to see the kids excitement over the fact that they had had an actual Christmas this year. He had even spent the day playing with them. The nerf guns had been a big hit. Forget cowboys and indians. Kids now seemed to want to play solider and zombie. More than one stray nerf dart had hit someone.
New Year's though was for partying with the adults. Before the outbreak Remy would have been out partying with the members of his unit. They had been his family, his brothers, and now they were gone. Remy had never been one to dwell on the past but he often found himself going back to that day. It had all gone so terribly wrong and he couldn't help but wonder if it had all been a set up.
Such thoughts called for another drink. Remy hit the table for another beer and spotted Tim. He gave the other man a nod and headed over to say hello. "Am I the only one who feels like I'm over age for this party," Remy asked, using his beer to gesture to the air around them and thus the music feeling it. Some of it made him feel like they were at a dance club.
