Re: Rodeo / Open
Rodeo certainly hadn't been expecting anyone to approach him, so when Cassie was suddenly in front of him and speaking to him there was a bit of a delay where he just stared blankly at her. In his old life, back in Tennessee, girls approached him all the time. He had been known in town, and being the resident bad boy certainly had its benefits. Still, to him that was two lifetimes ago-- before jail, and before the infection. He wasn't the same man, and this wasn't the same world. The last thing he expected was for some pretty, sweet-faced thing to walk on up to him and strike up a conversation.
The pause was only momentary. After a second, Rodeo recovered, and a grin spread over his lips. Cassie was a beautiful girl, and he loved to see a lady all dolled up. He could hardly have been more pleased with the sudden turn of events, and perhaps a little bit of that smug satisfaction showed in his smirk.
"I was just biding my time," Rodeo told her in an easy drawl, pushing off the wall to stand up straight in front of her. "See, this ain't much the sort of music I'm used to dancin' to, and I don't really know no one here. Just sitting back, hoping someone'll throw on some Allman Brothers or some pretty little thing will come up and let me get to know her." He was all slightly-sleazy Southern charm, an effortless mix of rough-and-tumble allure and country singer sweetness. Being flirtatious was like a unconscious reaction for him, and he especially couldn't help it when he was talking to a girl like Cassie.
