Leah's tone was unusually gentle, "Didn't say you had to like it, Marchand. She deserves a fighting chance." Just like Kori and Lilah. Uncomfortable with the topic, Leah rubbed at the tension in the back of her neck, willing it away. It was tiring, having to make all these decisions to keep their families safe, but it was something Leah had always done and, apparently, would always do.
She gave a half-smile in response. "It would also probably help if your brother was immune," she added to his remark about letting his brother train his sister. Brandon had that going for him, as well as his expertise as a police officer, so really, it was far more appropriate that he train the remaining Stones. Leah snorted when Evan joked about swapping the people they were talking about training. "You don't trust my self-control, but you'd trust me to teach your sister how to use a knife? There's some screwed up logic. Besides that, I'd actually feel better if Kori and Lilah learned to use some kind of ranged weapon. Less stress for me if they're not up close and personal with an enemy."
"Why? What do you think is down there?" She asked of the creatures in the sewers. "I could see a few zombies wandering down there, but I don't see how they could remain there for long without a constant food source. Unless they're feasting on rats."
