It had been four days since her little excursion outside. In all honesty she still wasn’t entirely okay. Sure the fighting with a pipe thing had been sort of cool. Coming back covered in zombie guts? Not so much. Okay so she was exaggerating a little bit. She hadn’t been covered. But there were splatters of things on her clothes that she didn’t want to think about what they were. If it weren’t that it was the only winter jacket she owned George would have thrown it out. Picking the slimy stuff off of the material hadn’t exactly been fun and her gag reflex had been pretty sensitive at the time too.
But she was bound and determined to not let the experience change her mind about what she wanted. She needed to be out there; needed Evan to teach her how to stay safe and defend herself. And if he disagreed she’d ask soldier boy. She got the impression that he wouldn’t turn her down, or maybe she was reading too much into soldier boy providing her with a knife to protect herself with as opposed to the pipe.
Shaking her head George got up from her bedroll and started to pace. She was fixating again on what she wanted. It was so very selfish of her and while usually that didn’t bother her, this particular fixation tended to get her all worked up for a fight, and she was pretty sure Evan wasn’t around to pick a fight with. So she continued to pace ignoring the concerned look Danny shot her way, waving her hand at him to say that it wasn’t important. A few laps later Danny had left and she assumed he’d decided on getting dinner and letting her work out her built up emotion in peace.
