The compliment was nice, not many people realized that Zach actually possessed enough intelligence to have gone to Med school. “Though about it actually, but I just couldn’t handle the years it would take of being in school.” He’d been a damn good student, but he just hadn’t been able to stomach the idea of eight years of college. He was an actions kind of person, not a a spend half his adult life studying type.
“Well look at that, I’ve gone and learned something new today,” Zach teased, not sure if he’d ever end up using the knowledge that a size eight was the most average shoe size for a woman. “And now I’ve learned something more about you.” He added with lopsided grin. Chuckling a little, he shrugged. “I have those from time to time, but don’t go making it public knowledge that I’m an ‘Ideas man’,” it was a joke, but there was some truth to it. Not everyone knew that he was a thinker; they saw the arrogance and womanizing first. “Probably, that place has just about everything else. “You could probably ask Vienna about it.”
He was smirking behind his mask, half of what he had said had truly just been spoken to get an reaction from Talia. “Oh wow, using my full name now, huh?” He shot back, his tone amused. “Or the result might be the fucking best thing that’s happened to me in awhile.” Zach shot back, wondering if Talia would rise to the challenge or have her own witty comeback for him.
“That’s me, as gentlemanly as they come,” was his reply to her. Zach studied whatever it was Talia was engrossed in, interested – if not to the degree that she was. When she held up the piece of bone and asked him what he thought it was, it took him a moment to respond. His first response was just going to be ‘Zombie bone’, but that wouldn’t be appreciated. “Think you’re right, near as I can tell it’s a vertebrae.” Still he reached out a hand for the bone, wanting a closer look at it. “But this thing is so decayed that we could be totally off base here.” He added, weighing in despite the fact that this was Talia’s domain and not his.
