Dillon was hardly feeling like himself. Or maybe he was, and that was the problem.
Since Gordy had been found, Dillon had felt like, well... his old self. Like he was trudging through everyday and everything he did made him sad and depressed. He'd even regressed back into habits that he'd never confess to having again, but the long sleeves, wristbands or wrist cuffs that he wore probably gave people clues. It was hard to cope with, though. Especially since he hadn't spent much time with the one person (aside from April, anyway) who really understood him. Charlie seemed occupied with other things, and he wouldn't make her listen to him anyway. Zach and Maddie didn't really get him, so... it was even worse to them.
It was nice to get out of his place for a little while, though. And when he was at April's, no one ever asked him questions (aside from Lucas, but that was another matter entirely). A part of him wondered where April's cousin was, why they were getting the chance to have the place to themselves, but he wasn't about to look a gift horse in the mouth.
That day had been relatively quiet; April was working on something or other, and as much as Dillon wanted to ask her what it was, he respected her privacy and sat on the bed (marveling at the randomness of the TMNT blanket Rae's cousin had sitting on the top of the bed; he'd almost asked about it several times, but figured it was nothing too important) reading his Fullmetal Alchemist manga.
Until April spoke up, anyway.
He looked at her with a little smile as she explained her idea, then chuckled softly. "It's been awhile since we've been up there, hasn't it? Adding a picnic, huh?" he asked. "I think I'd be okay with that. We'll have to make sure to bring a blanket with us, though, because it's still a little chilly."
