Sketching and painting. Yeah, that probably wouldn't happen and Evan knew it, but he didn't say anything, instead just smiled a little and chuckled softly. "A very little, if any. And probably very painted with feedings and whathaveyou." That was the realistic way to look at it.
It was frustrating for Evan that she did try to pretend, especially since most of the time, he felt like it was pointless to ask her what was wrong. She wouldn't tell him either way, so in a lot of ways, it kind of felt counterproductive to ask. That, in most cases, was why he didn't. Besides, if she wanted him to know, she'd tell him. At least he had to let himself believe that. "As long as we're unsure why it happened, you can't promise that, cher," he reminded her. It just wasn't realistic. "But I'll do what I can to help."
"Huh. Well, I don't know then." He'd been cycling it over in his mind and he couldn't come up with a good answer, aside from whatever it was that she wasn't telling him. And that, he'd already decided to let her decide when she knew. "Right, but those women weren't raising those children in a world like this," he reminded.
Thought I could handle was an interesting thing. "Maybe you should re-evaluate what you can handle, cher. I know you've told me that a thousand times, but that's just more of a reason that we need to re-evaluate. Right now, you obviously can't handle as much as you want to. And that's okay. That's why you have your family and friends. To rely on when you need us," he pointed out. "I won't forget it, cher. I'm sorry. It happened and it was scary. But the easiest way to work through it is to rely on us more. You obviously need to keep your activity to a bare minimum." It was simply put, but he meant it.
Have the baby at the apartment? Evan arched an eyebrow and tossed that around in his head, then said, "why don't you ask the staff about that, then?" He wasn't sure how comfortable he was with the idea of her being away from the medical things she needed, but if it was what she wanted, well...
"All set," he told her with a nod, as he held their things in his hands. "Let's go."
