For a few moments, Noah almost felt nostalgic for the days when who the best superhero was was of paramount importance. It would be nice to be that innocent sometimes, with nothing truly critical about which to worry. Ah, well. Maybe that was what kids were for: to remind adults of how good life had been back in the old days, to remind them of things they'd taken for granted.
"Uh-oh, we're in trouble," he said to Vienna when Ledger turned to yell to them that they were too slow. Chuckling when she said he shouldn't try telling Ledger that adults weren't as fast as three year olds, he said, "Duly noted."
Noah picked up his pace alongside Vienna when she pulled him, turning his head to give her a dimpled grin. "That's all right," he replied. "What else do we really have to do right now?" There was sex, of course, but that wasn't an option under the circumstances, and they'd have sufficient time to get ready for the party. "Here we are," Noah said when they'd gotten to the swings. Immediately, he climbed into one of them, holding on to the chains to swing standing up. Yeah, he might not have been the best example ever, but it was fun.
