Jace and Nick
This party was one of those things Nick was always a little surprised that they could do. People in the city definitely weren’t able to do the same thing, no, people in the city were simply trying to survive – and yet here they were in their own little compound that felt like more of a village sometimes, not only surviving, but also thriving by some standards. It was a blessing, one that she for one wasn’t going to take for granted – enjoy it while you had it, or at least that’s what she thought.
For the moment Nick was alone, unsure where Jax had wandered off to – although she thought she remembered a mention of tracking Zach down, so she could only assume that’s where he had gotten off to, she would find him later. Now though, she needed to warm up. Her Princess Jasmine costume was adorable or hot if someone were to ask Jax his opinion, but it also didn’t necessarily keep her very warm, so she slowly drifted towards the warmth of the bonfire.
It was just as she got closer to the bonfire that she saw Jace with what looked to be an audience of mostly middle schoolers, all glued to him as he taught them card tricks and if she was hearing things correctly he had just told them he might attempt fire breathing.
“Don’t give them any ideas,” Nick warned, flashing a friendly smile in Jace’s direction. “Or we’ll have a whole legion of kids trying it tomorrow.” Which was kind of a horrifying thought, and something that she knew Kori definitely wouldn’t want to deal with.
Standing just close enough to the bonfire to stay warm, but far enough away to keep from catching fire. Nick turned her attention back to Jace. “Or were you going to preface it with ‘Don’t try this at home’?”
