“To each their own, I suppose,” Zach replied with a half-smile and a shrug. “And I get that, you really just like the attention.” Being someone who had always enjoyed being the center of attention as well, the older man understood that. “Yeah, pretty sure younger siblings are given a guide book on how to irritate their older siblings. Sounds like you got your payback though, with the whole ignoring him bit.” Being the oldest, Zach had done that a time or two. But as he got older his parents started expecting him to watch out for his siblings, and it was role he had always been surprisingly good at.
Zach wondered if it would be mean to applaud when Jax managed to lean up against the shelves without phasing through them. He decided against it though, thinking it would probably not be amusing to Jax as it would have been to him. “Quarantine in general isn’t anyone’s idea of a good time, or at least I don’t think it is.” And if it was, well, that person was probably seriously twisted.
Chuckling, all Zach could do was shake his head. Man, he remembered being that young and falling hardcore for a girl – which Jax was clearly enamored with Nick. “Plus, she’s not exactly all that big, pretty sure she couldn’t do much damage to you.” Although he had a feeling the younger man wasn’t really worried about that – if he was mistake it seemed like the kid might even like the idea of his girlfriend beating on him. “Or you could always stumble onto something truly interesting, you just never now.” If asked he would never admit to encouraging this, but really what would it hurt? Quirking an eyebrow, he laughed. “That’s quite an interesting list of hobbies,” Zach remarked. “And I’m going to assume they weren’t listed in order of how important they are to you.”
