Kris loved creating things. There was something to be said for the ability to make something out of absolutely nothing, and give that something the ability to help the world. Or entertain it at the very least. As he put a final couple of tweaks on his underwater video camera, he felt that surge of pride that he always got coming over him again. He'd mostly been finished for a few days, but ther were a couple of final tweaks that he'd wanted to save for the day that the Elliot guy came to get the thing. Twisting a final protective screw into place was the last step, and he stepped back and admired his handiwork. A job well done, he decided.
Now, with an indeterminate amount of time between then and when the guy got there, there were a thousand logical things for Kris to do. Maintain the intranet would have been one. Another would have been to organize some kind of supply raid to replace all the parts he'd just used waterproofing the camera. But… Kris had never been logical.
So, instead of taking the smart path, he grabbed his game organizer, rifling through it for the appropriate game to play. Dead Island was okay, yeah, but he'd played it out over the past couple of days, and besides, he was part of the supply run later, so he had a feeling he'd get his fill of infected for the day rather quickly.
Instead, he settled on Assassin's Creed. Nothing better for when you're bored than to jump from the top of the Sistine Chapel and drive a small blade through someone's throat. At least that's the way Kris always saw it.
While the game booted up, Kris moved his makeshift milk-crate seat setup back against the wall, pulling Betsy onto his lap and sitting with his back up against the wall, putting his feet up on a milk-crate about two feet away. Smiling, he started to play.
