When Maddie laughed, Caitie couldn't hold back her little grin. It was stupid, but there was something about making someone you cared about laugh that was an unbeatable feeling. "Nudity also symbolizes hilarity for most of the people on the compound." Caitie couldn't help but think that most of the adults would look hilarious naked. "I think my brother watched that movie once, but I was too young to be interested. Besides, Mel Gibson's annoying," she added with a little grin.
It was hard not to laugh out loud when Maddie did her fancy kick, and she made an amused face. "Fabulous and a karate master," she added with a playful shove to Maddie's shoulder, like the older girl had given her a little while ago. "You know, with the regular mechanic guy out of commission, we probably could have," she mused. "No one else probably would have cared." Or even noticed, really, for that matter.
"A poncho..." Caitie made a face and shook her head no. "Well, I used to have a really cute poncho with pink turtles on it, but I haven't seen it in like... eons," she chuckled softly. "Besides, it was back when I was fifteen and it probably wouldn't even fit me anymore." She brushed a hand through her hair and shrugged. "Maybe we'll find something that isn't stupid and ugly." She paused and then smirked when Maddie mentioned umbrellas. "When I was younger I used to dance with umbrellas." Like Gene Kelley.
Caitie picked up on the sarcasm more than the sincerity and she made a face. "Hey, all the elf jokes I got at the party? You're darn right it's a huge favor!" she teased. Really, it wasn't that big a favor, but it was still fun to tease Maddie about it all the same. "Ugh, I wish I was taller," she said dramatically, though she really did wish she was taller. "We can't all be super duper tall like you," she teased, looking up at Maddie. "How's the weather up there, Shaq?"
She shrugged. "We can probably figure something out." Maybe. If not, it would just be another one of those random misadventures that the two of them had. Not that that was a bad thing, Caitie loved those things. They always seemed to have the best times when they let things happen. "And a new kitty litter box. They're getting too big for the one we're using." Sweeping litter off the floor was annoying.
"Yeah, even though when I was hiding out in the city I found some real cool stuff by checking places I didn't think I should check, with all the people around Sing Sing, I don't think there's much here. We should start at the top and work our way down. Best for first, obviously," she said with a little grin. "Or maybe second floor, so when we finish we can hang on the roof. What do you think?"
