WHO: Ty and Jackie
WHEN: March 4, 2020 ; midday
WHERE: just outside the walls
WHAT: Ty takes an unorthodox lunch break
RATING: medium for gore and Ty's mouth
The infirmary had been incredibly busy since the raid, but really that had been fine with Ty. He loved being an EMT, performing a job and doing it well, seeing actual proof that he was helping others. Several patients were being discharged today, and that would lighten their load. He wasn't sure how much Zach had actually left the place, and it was tough to convince him to do so. Ty could understand, in a way. Still, once midday had arrived and they had decent coverage for the number of patients that were there, Ty had no qualms about taking a lunch break. He was restless and antsy and needed to get out and do something.
Considering it was lunch, the intelligent thing to do would've probably been to eat something. He had some snack crackers and fig newtons in the drawer where he kept his things in the infirmary. But no, evidently that wasn't interesting enough for Ty.
What he ended up doing was walking up to one of the guard towers, where he could see outside the walls. As soon as he got up there, he saw a pack of the zombie dogs they'd encountered the day of the raid, really closer to one of the entrances than he would like. So Ty checked that his gun had plenty of ammo, just in case his relatively new ability to make things explode failed him, and hurried down to the entrance so he could slip outside.
"Hey, fresh meat over here," he called. Bea would rip him up one side and down the other with her tongue if she saw him doing this, but he didn't give a shit. Ty had a reckless streak that wouldn't be denied sometimes. One of the disgusting, drooling zombie mutts headed his way, and once it got close enough, he made it explode. Strangely satisfying despite the spew of guts that went everywhere. Yeah, he was going to have to change before he went back to work. Eh, what-the-fuck-ever. Another headed toward him, growling like a stopped up sink, and he blew it up, too. Gross but awesome.
