The worst part about dropping things when you had full arms, was the fact that you couldn't even lean down and pick them up. Rae looked around again, desperately seeking someone to help her, but everyone seemed too busy that they barely even noticed her. Sighing, she moved some of her things with the plan to lean the crutches against the wall and pick the small things up, but before she could lean down, she caught sight of Regan as he started to pick the things up. She breathed a relieved sigh and adjusted the remaining items in her arms. Thank god.
She gave Regan a smile and a chuckle at his question and nodded her head. "That obvious, huh?" she asked him.
"No, that definitely wasn't the plan," she shook her head as she leaned the crutches against the wall and pulled her jacket off, deciding to use it as something of a bag, rather than trying to balance things in her arms, then leaned down to pick up some of the things that had skittered a little further away. The exhaustion almost made her lose her balance, but she stayed on her feet, and even managed to keep everything she was holding in her hands. "Sort of a running risk when you're small and trying to carry things that are almost as big as you, I guess," she joked.
With most everything gathered in her coat, she looked at Regan with a grateful smile. "Thanks. Turns out carrying the things to take care of people is almost as much of a chore as actually doing the caretaking," she joked as she held out the open jacket for what he was holding. "I should've brought a duffel or something, but I guess I just didn't think of it." Another sign of exhaustion. She was usually pretty well on top of things like that.
"Did you come here to check on T—Silas?" she asked, nearly letting the nickname she'd given slip to Regan. She was sure Topher didn't want that. "I think he's back in his room, unless he wandered off on one of his 'sneaky' smoking breaks that the medics know he takes and don't stop him from," she smirked. "I'd take you there, but I've got to get this stuff back to my place so I can set up. Besides, you can probably find it yourself by now," she added with a chuckle.
