Noah was acutely uncomfortable, and it was a number of things, really. He was pleasantly surprised by how well he and Rufus had gotten along after the long, cold silence, he was in all honesty aroused and feeling as if a bucket of cold water had been dumped over him, he was uneasy about the emotions his ex's presence had stirred up, and he was very aware that Vienna was pissed. Didn't take a rocket scientist to figure that out; all it took was one glance at her chilly demeanor, the way her arms were crossed, the brittle smile she'd put on.
He was just grateful that Rufus left without trying to instigate anything, which he wouldn't have put past the guy. He'd always known the dude was trouble, but he had his good points. A lot of people would've said Noah was trouble, too.
Vienna breezed past him at his invitation to come in, leaving him staring after her at what she'd said. Did she really think he'd fucked someone with the makeshift window wide open? That wouldn't have been bright, especially when it was another guy. Way more maneuvering required for penetrative sex. He was a bit irritated at her accusatory tone and snippy remark, but he was trying to keep a handle on it. He entered the cell and closed the door behind him. "Well, talking to people doesn't usually wear me out," he said pointedly, coming to a halt in the middle of the floor to stare at her.
It was possible that he felt slightly defensive between what she'd said and the fact that she now knew he was bi. Noah had no patience for people who weren't open-minded, and he was wondering how she was going to react to that. He wasn't really sure what to say, because he wasn't accustomed to being in situations like this anymore.
