"It's kind of amusing how things like that can happen, isn't it? It feels like we went from hating the sight of one another to not wanting to be out of one another's company." Or, at least, on her behalf. "But for all the hell we put one another through, I'm glad it did eventually come to this." His life was improved, vastly, with her in it. "You know, I think that's the major reason why O'Brien and I always clashed. I had feelings for you, he saw that and was jealous." Evan couldn't say he blamed him, really, but it still got under his skin.
He laughed a little bit. "Only because you know I'm a one woman man." He'd been with Olivia for years, even before they'd gotten married. If that didn't tell her that he was a one woman man, nothing would. "Well, if you knew, it's your fault for setting me up for it, cher," he made a face.
It was that easy. Evan couldn't help but chuckle a little at that. "All the time we spent doing other things than talking about names, and it was only a two-or-three minute endeavor. Funny how things like that work sometimes, isn't it?" he asked her with a little smile, placing his hand on her stomach when she repeated the name. "Sounds perfect."
There was more than the street performers that Evan missed, obviously, but it was the first thing that had popped into his mind. He smiled a little bit. "I miss the Rockefeller Christmas celebration. And taking Daniel and Georgette school shopping, and arguing with them about what things are necessary and what aren't..." he chuckled a little bit. "And Times Square."
A single, low chuckle was all the response he gave to her quip about liking it rough. "You and me both, cher," he said afterward. But those desires had been put on the back burner once the Leah started showing.
"I know," Evan smiled a little bit. "It's just hard for me, you know?" He smoothed a hand through her hair and let it come to rest on her shoulder. "He is thought about. A lot. And missed a lot. By a lot of people." He and Rae had spent quite some time talking about him a couple of weeks ago. "It's just one of those things." Something that it was easier to talk about with someone who knew him. "I think we should both try and be more social. As the people that everyone around here looks to, it probably couldn't hurt, yeah?" he asked.
Evan chuckled again and shook his head no. "George may show, but somehow I doubt Daniel would. He's been quieter than usual lately." The mood swings made Evan wonder if he'd done something, but he didn't ever say anything about it. "We could try for everyone else, though. Even if catering to seven people's schedules might provide a bit of a challenge," he added as an afterthought.
"Nope," Evan waved Leah to one of the nearby chairs and shook his head no. "You've been relegated to silent assistant, who just sits there, providing eye candy and keeps me from drowning in my loneliness," he smirked at his joke, before starting to prepare the meal.
