WHO: Maddie and Caitie
WHEN: February 6, 2020; morning
WHERE: Their room.
WHAT: Maddie's being greedy with the breakfast donuts. Something charitable will happen, too.
RATING: Low/medium.
CHALLENGE: Greed vs. Charity
Manners weren't necessary to get the cafeteria ladies to cook what she wanted. All she had to do was say she wanted to see more donuts served every day and it happened. Now, breakfast was awesome. She didn't have to show up at ass o'clock in the morning to make sure she was able to snag some donuts for herself. All she had to do was show up – as long as it was still the hours designated for breakfast – and there were still plenty of the delicious pastries left. She hoped it didn't end anytime soon. Maddie was practically skipping on her way back to her room, a plate full of donuts held in both hands and two cups of coffee tucked in the crook of her left arm. She'd brought enough food that she and Caitie could evenly split them, but the selfish voice in her head was telling her to take more than her share. Maybe she'd suggest they thumb-wrestle for the last few donuts. They did that sometimes. Competed for the last few bits of food. When she got to the door, she tried awkwardly to shift her load so that she could open the door, but it was too much of a risk dumping all the food on the floor. Instead, she kicked at the bottom of the door. “Dude, open up. I got us breakfast! I think the kitchen chick listened to me about making more donuts every morning.” |
