Shocked disbelief registered on George’s face as she turned to look at her friend. “You’re kidding?” The concept that Maddie hadn’t pulled a prank in a prolonged period of time was unimaginable. If there was one thing she knew and entirely loved about her it was that she had a knack for mischief that could potentially out do Luke’s. Although she wasn’t entirely sure considering that one prank war ended in a draw as far as she was concerned.
As a rule, she was avoiding any conscious thought of the arguments last night. It didn’t stop the odd thought floating through demanding attention before she threw it far far away, but this was supposed to be fun times with Maddie. Thoughts of how she and Caitie seemed to be single-handedly sinking the band into nothingness just didn’t fit in the scenario. And she wasn’t going to make the older girl choose. Couldn’t ask that sort of thing of her. There were just some lines you didn’t cross.
Shaking herself George spotted a pile of belongings that appeared to be April’s and sprayed them. Coating the stuff until the pile nearly doubled in size. The can made an awkward fart-like sound as it was depleted and she happily tossed it into the bag for empties as she retrieved another and got started on her almost sister katana. It was going to be so caked with string, she might have to get a chisel while cleaning up. And since most travel outside seemed to be going the way of unfavorable at the moment, she wasn’t too worried about depriving April of her weapon.
“I’m waiting for Luke to get back to me. He offered to help. Any burning questions you want her to answer?” She tossed back with a mild shrug as brushed her hair out of her face. She was definitely in need of a haircut in the near future. It was getting on the long and annoying side of style and it needed taming before it went absolutely wild.
