"I should know better than to make plans anymore," Ty sighed. In the past, he'd been incredibly organized and always had at least some idea of what he wanted to do. Post-apocalypse, it was far more difficult to turn events in his favor. Ty was accustomed to it, but that didn't mean he had to like it.
He snorted when Bea said she made things awesome. For a woman who didn't seem to feel she had a lot going for her in the way of feminine wiles, she could still pull out that boasting that always made him laugh. She was unique, and she had street-smarts like nobody's business. That was probably why there hadn't been anyone else he'd quite trusted to help him run things the way he had her. Yeah, she ran her mouth a lot, bitched and complained, but he did too. He could deal with that.
"Right," Ty said, grabbing at her foot when she kicked it in his direction. He never knew quite how to react when she said things like that, so he usually went directly into heavy snark. "So you're saying that I can be a kind of living dildo... just keep my mouth shut the whole time. Classy." Sometimes he liked to run his mouth and see if he could shock Bea, but to his disappointment, he'd never been able to throughout their acquaintance. "And I don't wanna just fuck, I wanna get it done right. That takes practice." Shit, he literally couldn't remember the last time he'd practiced on anything besides his own hand; fighting zombies got in the way of one's sex life, it seemed.
He let go of her foot and settled himself on the bed, swinging his legs over her and lying on his side with his head at the opposite end from her. Ty settled one hand beneath his head, propping up on his elbow. "Celibate ice queen," he repeated, his eyebrows arching. "Let me guess... your continual hard-ass attitude got that rumor started." He'd heard a guy at their former safehouse mutter that Bea's girlparts probably had teeth, and he'd let the guy know he'd better not ever say anything like that again and let him hear about it. Only reason he hadn't clocked him had been because that wasn't quite leadership behavior.
