“I'll say one thing. You're good at the flattery.” Naturally, he had other, more useful, skills. “You're probably a good medic, too. Maybe.” She was teasing him now. “And what's that phrase about it taking clever to recognize clever?” Or maybe she was just making that phrase up.
Jackie smirked and shrugged a shoulder. “A lot of things pale in comparison to Talia's smile, so I wouldn't be too hard on yourself. You guys make a great team, though.” He was a good medic, she knew, despite what the rumors said about him.
Zach's joke about X-Men earned him a laugh. She hadn't intended for the conversation to get so serious, so she was grateful for the ice-breaker. “It'd be pretty sweet if X-Men were out there killing zombies, wouldn't it? Though if there were, I'd say they suck at their job since there's still zombies around.”
Other reasons. She laughed in her throat, unable to keep the smirk from her face. She didn't know too many people who had a tolerance for that kind of arrogance. It probably helped that Jackie wasn't taking him completely seriously. Which, promiscuity aside, was a compliment, really.
She watched him do a few reps before replying. “I do enjoy those other reasons. That the only reason you showed up for this? To get two workouts for the price of one?” For what it was, it was an innocent question. Curiosity. Wanting to know if he was serious or if he was just playing the game. Her opinion of him wouldn't change with either answer.
