“So you’ve got that habit as well?” He asked with a smirk. Zach wasn’t always the best at thinking before he spoke, especially when it came to talking to women. “What? You mean you didn’t say something clever?” Zach flashed her a charming smile. “Because I really think you did.” If she wanted to pretend as if she had said something clever, who was he to argue with her? And he didn’t feel as if he needed to assure her that he wasn’t a freak who memorized medical files, although he was positive if there had been something in Jackie’s worth remembering, he probably would have.
If his gaze followed her actions, Zach really didn’t think he could be blamed. He wasn’t being a creep about it either; it was just kind of automatic for him to watch other people’s movements. “You could probably get a lynch mob together if someone actually had the nerve to steal anything,” he figured there were enough people that used the gym, it wouldn’t be hard to get a group together to go after a thief. “And there’s really nothing you can do about the weights being stolen,” wasn’t like they could chain them to anything. Smirking slightly, Zach shrugged. “I’m just one person, but I think I’m going to declare you queen of the gym from now on.”
Later, huh That was definitely a thought he could easily entertain. “Didn’t think I would be,” he answered honestly, a smirk still tugging at the corners of his mouth. “You can drill me now and I guarantee I’ll still be ready to go later.” He hadn’t specifically come here angling for a hookup of any kind, but if the opportunity presented itself he wasn’t going to pass it up, especially not with a woman he seemed to have a fair amount of chemistry with. All he would expect was that things were kept casual, he wasn’t looking for anything serious – and if nothing came of it, well, the flirting was definitely an ego boost at least.
“You know I had picked up on that fact,” He didn’t blink or look away as she held his gaze. Though he couldn’t help chuckling just a little bit when she pointed out the obvious. “I’m an anomaly I guess,” Zach had never been able to figure that one out either. A friend of his in the service had always said maybe it had something to do with the fact that generally he wasn’t trying to sleep with his patients. Which could easily be the reason, but he wasn’t going to voice that aloud. “It’s more than a little funny, trust me, I’ll probably never stop hearing about it.” Even with his bedside manner being less than great, Zach was still one of the best damn medics they had in the place.
Zach focused on jumping rope for a few beats being replying to Jackie. “Honestly, I don’t think they’re ever going way.” Maybe they would all wake up one day and the undead would be truly dead. But he highly doubted that. “People like to complain, that isn’t anything new. I’ve just never seen a point in it.”
Weightlifting was one of those things he was all to familiar with, having spend a great deal of time using it as a means to just gain back strength after his accident. Most of the lingering issues from it were hardly noticeable; though the scars were still obvious if a person looked close enough they would notice them on his right arm, traveling up towards his shoulder and onto his chest. “I’ve been lifting between 200 and 225, give or take,” he answered as he set down the rope and moved over towards the weight bench.
