Her stance stiffened slightly when she saw approach her, even though it was someone she recognized. It'd been a long time out on the road, and consequently it'd take her a while to get over that paranoia, that fight or flight instinct. The only real contact she'd had in... god, eight weeks or so had been a child or one of the undead. One couldn't blame a girl for being wary after all that.
As he got closer, the knot of worry in her stomach grew tighter. There was still a nervousness that she'd be rejected after all this. Leaving had been a huge mistake, she knew that now, and it was something she honestly regretted. She felt like she'd abandoned them when they needed her most. Let them down. Just like she'd let down Robbie, Danielle, and now Nat. Her life felt like a series of one screw-up after the other, and she didn't know how to fix it. Or even if she could.
"Hey, Boss," she greeted quietly, her voice just as weary as her face. "Good to see you."
And it really was. A friendly face was a welcome reprieve from the undead or looters, enough to make her relax slightly, leaning on the cane in her hand. Even if he resented her for leaving like she did, she knew he wasn't going to toss her out on her ass. And if he'd come down in person, that had to mean something, right?
