There may not be rules, but there was an unspoken understanding that most people didn’t go digging around the infirmary; there were a few that Talia had caught snitching Advil or band-aids, but overall, everyone left things alone. Especially the records. That was what made Talia a little suspicious of the intentions, because aside from the medical staff and Maddie very few people went to that area of the infirmary.
But she wasn’t assuming trouble straight off.
“They aren’t here,” Talia answered, taking a moment to place a name to the woman. Charlie. That’s what Zach had said his other sister was named. “I sent Zach to take a break earlier, and Maddie isn’t usually present unless he is.” She wasn’t sure what Maddie did when she wasn’t here, and granted she didn’t know the younger Johnson sibling well enough to be able to offer an alternative place to look.
“He’ll probably be back in a couple hours, if you’d like to come back then.”
