Hobbies were more limited now, sometimes few and far between. At least for people who weren't skilled with that many things. Not that she didn't think Brandon could come up with an actual hobby, but he only seemed interested in fighting and drinking. “What about woodworking? You did a decent job with the pool and the playground. You could probably manage that.” Shooting classes. She inclined her head. “Those are always useful. And I suppose I should get in some training with long-range weapons...”
Growing up, Leah had often envied the expression Kori was giving Brandon now. The ability to coerce someone just with an innocent look like that. She'd never been able to manage it, but it was impressive, watching how Kori used it. “Any way you look at it, it's always fun when the girls gang up on the boys,” was her only taunting contribution.
“So it's still a developing idea. That's good,” she responded with a nod. “You've already got the approval of two people in the compound. We're just giving you things to think about that go along with that.” She smiled encouragingly at her younger sister.
Leah half-smiled at her brother. “I didn't so much teach as keep you guys out of trouble,” she countered. “And anyway, I already said I'd help out however Kori and Laura need me. If that means giving some kind of lessons, or doing a gym or recess thing, I'll do what I can.”
“Support has to start somewhere. Consider us your first two names.” She nodded. “The kids have to continue their education somehow. What better way than to put them with people who can actually help further their education?” And maybe it would be just the thing to motivate Evan into finally doing those painting lessons with the kids. Too many of the things he did involved business and not fun.
