It was nice that Nick had confidence, or at least acted the part if she didn't. Her remark about not having said what she had if it didn't make sense was like something his cousin would have said, and she was what he thought of when he thought of confident girls. Not that he wanted to compare Nick to his cousin in any other way, of course.
His own eyebrows lifted when she asked if he was angling to see her boobs. "There is nothing I can say here that won't get me in trouble," he observed with a wry grin. If he said no, she'd want to know why not, were they not good enough for him? And if he said yes, she could hit him and call him a perv. There were times when a guy simply could not win. Jax got his thoughts together and said, "I'm sure I'd love seeing them, but I know you're not the kind of girl who shows somebody the goods right away. And yeah, it's predictable that guys like boobs. You wanna know my opinion?" He jumped ahead with it without giving her time to say yes or no. "Girls like to see certain things on guys too. They just don't talk about it like we do." He was firmly convinced of that fact.
He was comfortable and definitely much warmer already once Nick got settled in, trying to resist doing something dorky like putting his nose against her hair to see if it smelled as nice as the rest of her did. When she looked back at him and asked about seeing penguins if she'd stayed put, he replied, "Maybe you could've. But I'm gonna tell you that a penguin couldn't warm you up." Suddenly, he pretended to look appalled. "Do you think penguins can be zombiefied? 'Cause that'd just be sad." Then he smiled again. "A lot better," he repeated, not having any issues with her knowing that he liked sitting by her, especially this close to her.
