“Of course it makes sense, I wouldn’t have said it if it didn’t,” Nick remarked with an underlying tone that clearly said ‘duh’. Conversation was conversation to her, being someone who disliked being alone also meant she didn’t at all mind random babbling, something that Jax did quite a bit. She would never admit it, but she enjoyed the randomness of it, that sometimes they didn’t talk about anything at all, yet she never felt bored or lonely when she was around him.
She scowled slightly when he snickered, opening her mouth to make some kind of comment that she was better than Megan Fox, because you know she was actually here. But she snapped her mouth closed as Jax began to talk again. “Is that your way of angling to see them?” Nick asked with an arched eyebrow, not surprised by his statement on that particular aspect of the female form. Guys were kind of predictable in that way. “And you know it’s nice that even in the zombie apocalypse you’re upholding the tried and true fact that guys are predictable.” Her words were sarcastic, though the comment was truly said in a good-natured kind of teasing manner.
Nick tried to cover any kind of surprise she may have had at the quick manner in which Jax listened to her demand. It doesn’t mean anything. she thought as she scooted over to sit beside him. They were both just cold, that was it. That’s why she was leaning into him when he looped an arm around her, it wasn’t because she liked the feeling of being that close to him, no, she wasn’t that girl, the kind that did silly things like this just to get close to a guy….was she? “Wait? You mean I could have seen penguins if I’d stayed over there?” She teased, tipping her head back to look up at Jax. “A lot better, huh?” She wasn’t going to read anything into that, or at least she was going to try to avoid it as best she could.
