“Well, how was I supposed to know if that was your thing or not? Not exactly like we’ve discussed your preferences,” Nick rolled her eyes as she spoke. “But apparently now we have. I don’t know, people just like what they like, I’m not really sure if there’s much of an explanation beyond that.” She had never really given much thought into what attracted people to each other. “I think you’re safe, as far as I know nobody’s forcing people to be attracted to people they wouldn’t normally be attracted to.” Or at least she didn’t think that was going on.
If she were the dramatic type she would have played up some kind of offense to Jax’s words. But as it was Nick wasn’t, and really she had come to expect things like this from him. “Then I should probably warn you that they aren’t really anything to write home about, I’m not really Megan Fox or anything.” Were they really talking about this? Nick was trying to overcome any kind of uncomfortableness in talking about her body like this by acting like she was totally chill with the conversation.
She knew that ‘Mm-hm’ well, it was the same kind of noise one of her brother’s would have made once they had checked out of a conversation topic. So done with sock discussion then, she supposed. Even with her feet tucked up underneath her and her hands covered by her sweatshirt, Nick was still colder than she would have preferred to be. “Florida sounds really appealing right now,” she nearly whined. “Or a blanket.” Yeah, the blanket would probably be more feasible, but she wasn’t going all the way back to her cell for one. “I’m not freezing to death just for a movie,” she shifted, kicking lightly at Jax’s legs. “So move your legs, I’m coming over there and stealing body heat from you.” She didn’t even care what Jax might think, because if it came down to sitting closer to him or freezing to death, Nick was going to take the former.
