Jax didn't have a plan at all, but that was typical for him. He wasn't the sort to be devious. He might be hyper and talk until he'd annoyed the shit out of people, but he was essentially good-hearted. In his opinion, it was best to go into situations with no expectations, just chill and see what happened. That had worked out well for him in the past most of the time.
It seemed like business as usual when Nick came in and flopped down on the couch, especially when she told him he had a hole in his sock. It was so typical Nick that it made him grin.
"I thought we could watch the one about taming the dragons?" Jax said, his inflection almost making it a question. "It has action and the dragons are cool." It was a cartoon, but if she liked Disney movies, she'd probably be fine with that. "Or there's plenty of other stuff here if you'd rather see something else." He scrutinized his socked feet and pulled the offending one up onto the couch so he could pick at the hole. "Thanks, I never noticed," he said. "It's not a big hole, so I can still wear 'em." It would never occur to him to try to find someone to sew the hole up.
