"Yeah, Ada's scaring me a lot right now," Noah said, perfectly deadpan. Any second now, he expected the dog to start snoring. Although he imagined that if there happened to be a real threat to Bea, the Husky would come through admirably. He grinned when Bea started laughing, something she didn't do nearly enough, as far as he was concerned. At least there didn't seem to be any weirdness now that Bea knew that he and Vienna were... whatever they were. The more he considered putting a name to it, the stranger he felt, so he usually didn't.
Noah took the cigarette when she handed it to him, murmuring, "Thanks," before putting it to his lips to inhale smoke. He exhaled it with a faint snort at her comment. "What, you mean you didn't like looking at diseased lungs and skulls and crossbones and all that other shit?" he inquired, sarcasm most definitely in his tone. He wasn't so sure scare tactics helped people make informed decisions; most likely, people would just avoid looking at the pictures. That was what he would've done if he'd been a regular smoker.
It was true that there weren't any segregated smoking and non-smoking places in the compound. He hadn't really thought about it before. If there was anyone with allergies to cigarette smoke, it might become an issue, but so far it didn't seem to be.
