“As if I wouldn’t be prepared to hogtie someone,” Maddie replied, as if Zach was an idiot for thinking she’d go into this unprepared. In truth, she’d been a little surprised when he handed her some rope and told her they were going to get DJ to hang out with them. She hadn’t really expected Zach to indulge that little joke. Of course, he probably didn’t expect her to seriously be willing to hogtie their brother if he refused to spend time with them.
She’d do it. No hesitation.
It probably made her a bad sister, but Maddie was actually glad Charlie wasn’t along with them. The number one reason being that she’d drag the kid along, but also because the most mature sibling in the family was also the one most at risk for ruining the fun. Maddie loved her sister, but wasn’t particularly in the mood for being scolded when she was only trying to be a good sister.
DJ’s current state was always worrisome, but his appearance on the network had been surprising and hopefully a little promising. Maybe his reappearance meant he was coming out of his mood finally. It’d be nice to have her younger brother back again. She always missed him when he withdrew.
“Yeah, Pipsqueak, open the door! Or we’ll huff and puff and burn your cell down!”
