Wren heard Aiden shuffling around behind him and it was only because he knew the sound of Aiden that he didn't panic himself; silly boy. He fell to his side and then rolled onto his back on the bed at Aiden's request, humming happily and so pleased to hear Aiden laugh that it could have been his present all on it's own.
He cocked his head as he looked down at the bedroll that had been deposited on his lap and blinked up at Aiden, listening to his explanation carefully. He turned it around like it was made of glass, being gentle and tentative with it, petting it softly before he began unrolling it like he was worried whatever it was inside would break if handled too roughly. When the toy was exposed Wren stopped and just looked at it, silent and not daring to touch it. He looked up at Aiden uncertainly and back to the toy again, back to Aiden and then back down. His fingers twitched but he still didn't take it. "This, these are for me, you got them?" he asked, his tone disbelieving, like he expected the answer to be laughter and scorn but he knew he wouldn't get that from Aiden so he was confused. He rubbed the soft cloth of the blanket between his thumb and finger but then pulled his hand away like he'd just forgotten he wasn't permitted to touch; he looked back at Aiden and he was clearly looking for help, his reaction the same kind of shock as someone winning the lottery.
