A marginally surprised expression crossed Miah’s features at Maddie’s words. “Some people just need to find a reason for something, whether it’s an accurate reason or not.” People were funny that way, the unknown was uncomfortable and someone with a bit of mystery often fell into the ‘unknown’ category. He would personally take someone who provided a bit of challenge over someone boring any day, but that was just his nature.
“Nah, he probably doesn’t have to be. But more than likely he’s always been sexist and having control over the armory has just heightened that particular personality trait.” It wasn’t necessarily an excuse, but Miah found that sometimes you just couldn’t change a person, no matter how hard you tried and sexist idiots seemed to be one of the hardest people group to change.
He was still catching up on the whole history of this place, so it came as news to him that they had considerable amount of people die here. “Maybe they need to look into why exactly this place seems to be attracting death.” It was an overly logical idea, wasn’t exactly like they could do a survey of everyone. “Or have a heavier screening process for the people they allow into this place.”
He nodded. “Yeah, none of these places have great sound proofing,” Which really wasn’t an issue, except for when you had an arguing couple deciding to put on a performance in the common area of a cellblock. “Plus, small community, word travels fast.”
Rubbing at his arm jokingly, Miah gave her a mock scowl before breaking into a grin. “Not if you continue to hit like that,” he joked, before adding. “But considering this place is small, yeah, you’ll be seeing me again I’m sure.”
