“Life would be boring without a little bit of mystery,” he remarked with a half smile. “So you’re just keeping things interesting and everyone on their toes.”
He wasn’t even sure if Sing Sing had a gambling scene, besides the poker games that happened at the Horsemen, that was. Which, he wasn’t even sure how serious those people were about betting – but it could be interesting to see if Maddie managed to start her own bookie business of sorts. Miah just quirked an eyebrow up and chuckled slightly at her response. “Well, if it’s been medically proven, who am I to argue with that?”
In his time at Sing Sing he had yet to actually deal with the armory, so he would just have to take Maddie’s word on that. “Yeah? That’s a shame,” he paused a moment before adding. “Guess they have to make sure people don’t go blowing themselves up or anything.”
Was it sad when the most interesting part of your day was a lover’s quarrel? Probably. Miah made a mental note to start doing things again, maybe he would see if Ellie wanted to trek out into the town and go looting. She needed to get out again, and maybe being away from the compound was exactly what she needed. He was pulled back to the present and out of his thoughts at the whole ‘no murdering’ comment. “Leadership actually has a rule for that?” He kind of thought that was just something most people knew and followed.
There was a brief moment when Miah wondered why it was someone had had to step in and settle the fight, it had been an interesting form of entertainment – almost like reality television. This way would probably end things without bloodshed though, so he could begrudge the mediator too much.
“Definitely a little anti-climatic,” Miah agreed as he pushed away from the railing and straightened up. “Considering all the players involved, I’m sure there will be a part two soon.” With how emotionally charged the whole fight had been, he would be surprised if there wasn’t a part two already brewing.
