“Maybe not lamps, but something. Something smaller, maybe. Something not useful.” And probably something that belonged to somebody else, for that matter. “Books.” She’d throw books for attention. Maddie nodded, a smirk teasing at the corners of her mouth. There was seriousness in it, but it was mostly just a joke. Testing him to see if he believed her.
She shrugged a shoulder. “People gotta get it somewhere, I guess.” Some with one-night stands, others with shacking up, and so on and so forth. To a girl who’d never been in a relationship before, it was one of those mysterious things she didn’t understand. Nevertheless, it was fun to watch.
A nod. “Oh, I realized that. Just didn’t know they were that dumb.” Even she wouldn’t have been that dumb. Her eyes scanned the crowd to see if she could spot a guilty-looking female. “If she is here, it’d be funny if she was watching this. Ooh, I’m kinda hoping the spurned lover finds her. Haven’t seen a catfight in a while.”
Maddie grinned when she heard the doubt in Miah’s voice. It was fun making people question whether she was capable of something. Unless it got her in trouble. “It would be. It’d also probably destroy my awesome new room, too, and that would suck.”
