His answer wasn’t a surprise, but Vienna found she enjoyed the sheer fact that he played along and answered anyway. “Good, because I don’t really think I would want an audience.” Anyway, exhibitionism like that was for people who needed to fight for attention, and she had a feeling Noah had never had to fight for attention in his life. “We’re dancing the line of privacy right now,” Vienna murmured as she inclined her head towards the door. “I’m not sure if the door locks or not.” She hadn’t thought to try it before, because she hadn’t really thought she would need it. Clearly she should have thought further into the future.
“Careful, don’t let that go to your head.” she remarked with a quirked eyebrow and a small smirk.
As each day passed Vienna knew she was sliding more and more down the slippery slop of growing attached to Noah. She was hesitant to put any kind of label on what it was she felt, she just knew she felt something and that scared her a little. Ledger’s father had been the last person she had truly allowed herself to care about, and that had ended in heartbreak. But as much as her brain told her to get out before this became something serious, her heart or the part of that that didn’t want to be lonely and enjoyed the chemistry she had with Noah kept drawing her back to him. She would keep this casual if it killed her, or at least that was what she kept telling herself. Pushing those thoughts aside, she stood on tiptoe and allowed herself to get lost in Noah’s kiss.
