Photography had seemed like a frivolous activity while in the city. Vienna had been focused on simply surviving while living in New York. But out here in Ossining, living inside the walls of Sing Sing – it didn’t seem as pointless. She could find that love for it again, that spark that had always been there, but had merely been dimmed for a time while other things asserted themselves as more important. In many ways Sing Sing allowed people to find a shred of normalcy again, a fact that she was still getting used to. When she and Noah had been talking weeks ago, she couldn’t even remember what had spurred her on to mention how she wanted to capture him on film, it had seemed like a silly thing to mention at the time – yet now she was thankful she had said something.
She appreciated Noah’s patience while she fussed and fiddled with all her equipment, though she had a feeling some of that patience came from the fact that he had brought his guitar. Vienna remembered him having mentioned playing as a hobby, she could admit it hadn’t surprised her much that he played – he struck her as the type that would have a hobby such as that.
For a moment she thought about his question, after all it was her job as the photographer to direct him. This was the part she was rusty on though, taking the idea she had for an image and relying that idea in such a way that her subject would be able to achieve it. “Right now I think I would like you here,” She took a hold of his wrist and led him to the spot she wanted him to stand. “And later, when we’re done here I’ll let you know where I want you, then.” Her smile was flirtatious as she took a step away from him.
