Honestly, this might not have been the best thing to cheer Caitie up. All she could think of as she glided across the ice was how effortlessly Christina used to do this. She'd always been a better skater than Caitie, and the one to teach her to skate, actually. Her smile wilted a little as she remembered that time, but she turned her head back to look at Nick and put the smile back in place.
Gliding across the ice, she turned around and looked at the wall, thinking about Everett for the thousandth time. How he'd gone to the city, not knowing if he'd actually find Christina there, not knowing if he'd actually come back. How could anyone think it was a good idea to run off?
With a single laugh, Caitie shrugged. “Smiley faces and they'd be pink. Because pink's totally the happiest color. Or maybe yellow or orange, since they're, like... sunshine.” Supposedly.
“You and me both,” Caitie said with a shrug and a sigh. “I can't help but think that if Chrissy was out there, she'd be here by now. So him leaving or whatever? Is dumb, and a quick and easy way for him to like... just get himself killed. Or ditch me, or something. Is it dumb that I think he wanted to ditch me?” It wasn't a very brotherly thing to do, and Everett had always been a good brother up until this, but... this just sucked.
